We Will Rock You to close 31st May 2014 Dominion Theatre
We Will Rock You is to close at the Dominion Theatre, London, at the end of May 2014. The final show will be on 31st May 2014, shortly after its 12th anniversary.
The original West End production opened at the Dominion Theatre on 14th May 2002, with Tony Vincent, Hannah Jane Fox, Sharon D. Clarke and Kerry Ellis in principal roles.
Co-creators Ben Elton, Brian May and Roger Taylor said: “We want to thank every one of the many hundreds of incredible musical theatre artists, musicians and crew with whom we’ve had the privilege of working at the Dominion since 2002. And of course the incredible audiences who have rewarded them with over four and a half thousand standing ovations.”
We Will Rock You is a musical based on songs from Queen with a book by Ben Elton. The musical tells the story of a group of Bohemians who struggle to restore the free exchange of thought, fashion, and live music in a distant future where everyone dresses, thinks and does everything the same. Musical instruments and composers are forbidden.
Best wishes to cast, creatives and all involved with We Will Rock You!
