From Here to Eternity is a new musical based on James Jones’ 1951 novel, opening at the Shaftesbury Theatre in October 2013. The production has brought together the brilliant talents of Stuart Brayson (music), Tim Rice (lyrics) and Bill Oakes (book). It tells an incredible story of passion and honour. Set on the Hawaiian island of Oahu, in 1941, just before and during the attack on the US Naval base at Pearl Harbor. From Here to Eternity is Stuart’s West End debut and is Tim Rice’s first new stage musical for ten years.

The production is directed by Tamara Harvey whose recent work includes Educating Rita by Willy Russell, with a national tour starting at the Menier Chocolate Factory. She also directed The Kitchen Sink, Blue Heart Afternoon, Tell Me On a Sunday (UK tour) and Plague Over England.

The Chichester Festival Theatre production of The Pajama Game is said to be heading for the Shaftesbury Theatre from May 2014.
