Charlie and the Chocolate Factory celebrate first year in West End
Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Sam Mendes, last night marked the first anniversary of its opening at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane with a gala performance and party for cast, crew and special guests.
Jake Poolman, one of the four young actors who share the role of Charlie Bucket, led the curtain call at the end of the show with Alex Jennings (Willy Wonka), Barry James (Grandpa Joe) and fellow cast members, before all attending a party at the Waldorf Hilton hotel.
Also present were guests Ben Forster, Beverley Knight, Rebecca Front, Charlotte Jaconelli, Hannah Reid, Adrian Scarborough, Helen Skelton and Richie Myler.

All persons entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a ticket. Babes-in-arms will not be admitted. All children must be old enough to occupy their own seats.
