Global star and entertainer Barry Humphries, whose creations include iconic Australian housewife Dame Edna Everage and the extravagant cultural attaché, Sir Les Patterson, makes his final bow around the UK with his heralded farewell tour, EAT, PRAY, LAUGH!
Barry Humphries has already bid farewell to audiences in Australia and New Zealand, receiving ecstatic standing ovations and reviews, with additional performances added on the tour, much was the demand.
EAT, PRAY, LAUGH! Will provide audiences around the country a last chance to see Humphries, who is one of the world’s keenest wits and best comic talents, and a superstar of stage and TV during the past 50 years, as well as allow the maestro to thank his many fans.
Act One of EAT, PRAY, LAUGH! Features gentle, grandfatherly Sandy Stone, perhaps Humphries’ greatest creation, and the outrageous Les Patterson – according to Dame Edna “this is just a bit of foreplay really before I make an orgasmic appearance in Act Two!”
Surrounded by spectacular sets and beautiful and talented dancers, Dame Edna promises to ‘empower’ her audiences with what she describes as ‘a meditation on loss, gender, climate change, gay marriage and ethnicity’.
