There are certain things actors long for. While some just want to be famous, for the best ones it’s about the work, and some work is better than others. The West End will raise the blood pressure of any actor. Hollywood will excite all but the most dour, and Stratford Upon Avon…well, it’s where Shakespeare was born. If ever there was an acting god, it’s Shakespeare.
You just don’t realise how much Shakespeare has influenced people, hundreds of years after his death. And then, of course, there is the chance to combine Shakespeare and Stratford Upon Avon. Which is why I will always love Mary Tynan. At the end of April I will going and performing in Stratford Upon Avon. I will be a witch in Macbeth, Rosalind in As You like It and Portia in The Merchant of Venice. And at the moment, I don’t even know my lines. Eek! They say that acting is all about luck, it’s not. However, I am lucky; as I have done all three of those acting goals. And I am grateful for it.
